Dream Valley Challenge 31 - For a Special Lady

Hiya!

It's time for a new challenge over at Dream Valley and didn't we have fun with this one!!!! We would like to see your creations For a Special Lady and as my Auntie Janet was celebrating a very special birthday a few days ago, I couldn't think of a better challenge! We are being sponsored by the fabulous Saturated Canary who are offering a $10 voucher to our lucky winner! With so many gorgeous images the DT were completely spoilt for choice.....

Now I personally find colouring hair one of my biggest challenges so I wanted to find an image with particularly gorgeous hair so I could practice, practice, practice! And practice I did..... I'm not sure quite how many times I coloured this image before I was finally happy with the results and I'm not quite sure why I went so completely purple about it, but I have to say I quite like it!

This gorgeous image is called Lolita.... Here's a close up.....

I used:
Promarkers
Sentiment - Sentiments 4 You
Papers - Henbury Lane, Papermania
Nesties
Butterfly punch
Brush marker for faux stitching
Pearls and lace from stash

I'll have a look for some challenges after I've put the littl'uns to bed! Here they are.....

Challenges:
Saturated Canary - Happy Birthday
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

Now don't forget to pop over to Dream Valley to see the gorgeous creations made by the rest of the DT.

Love 'n' hugs,

Time for coffee....

Hiya!

Well am I glad to be back in blogland!!!  I'm relieved to finally be crafting again! After all the excitement of the wedding and the honeymoon, it's taken me a little while to settle back into normal life. I'd thought about going to my craft corner several times but the umph! wasn't there and neither were the ideas! So I visited some of my fave blogs to get some much needed inspiration and it seems to have done the trick :-)

And just in time too.... it was my son, Marc's seventeenth birthday yesterday. I think he's a bit too old for all the kid/teenager images I've got now so I had to think of something a bit different. After trawling through all my digi images I found this one which pretty much sums him up most mornings :-)  I have had this image for ages - it isn't conveniently organised with a name or where it's from so it must be from when I was quite new to blogland so if anyone can tell me where it's from, that would be great!

I was quite proud of myself for using only card and papers from my scraps folder so I'm not quite sure where they're from either (although I'm pretty sure the paler spotted paper is Daisy and Dandelion). I embossed the background with a papermania mini polka dots folder and added a sentiment from Sentiments 4 You.

The image is coloured with promarkers and I've added a little 3D gloss to his nose :-)

Challenges:
CRAFT - Animals
Cards for Men - Texture
Creative inspirations - Anything goes
Forever Friends - Embossing
Ladybug Crafts Ink - Birthday
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Sketch 'n' stash - Fab sketch (I've turned it upside down), unused/neglected stash - digi stamp

Right, time to make lunch for my little man! I'll be back again on Sunday with my DT card for Dream Valley so see you then :-)

 Love 'n' hugs,

A Wedding Piccie for you......

Hiya!

Just a quick stop by to show you all a piccie from our big day :-)

We had a lovely day with gorgeous weather and all our friends and family around us. It couldn't have been more perfect!

And a special thank you to those of you in blogland who sent us some absolutely gorgeous cards! We were really touched. I blubbed like a girl while reading them. Thank you so much!

Dream Valley Challenge 29 - Wedding/Love

Well, this is it! Today is the day!!! I'm not actually really here..... Really I'm at the hotel having a last minute flap before I get married in about 2 hours time :-) Eeeeeek! :-)

And that is why the lovely girls over at Dream Valley have set our latest challenge to be

Wedding/Love!!!!

Aren't they sweet??? :-)

I thought for this project I'd show you something I've been working on for our big day..... This is our Wishing Well!

For those of you not familiar with the idea, a wishing well can be used as an alternative to wedding presents from your guests. Paul and I have been together for 8 years so we don't have the need for traditional wedding presents like towels and things so to save everyone trying to hunt round for something we might need, instead we invite them to make a wish for us and put it in our wishing well!

This is what it looked like when we first bought it:

We gave it a coat of white paint and I went on a shopping trip with my good pal, Yvonne, to buy some artificial roses and ivy....

There are larger roses at the bottom, across the front....

Leading up to smaller roses and rose buds up the side.....

I filled the bucket with more rose buds and ivy and lined the inside of the well with a pillow case so that our wishes don't fall out the bottom :-)

The poem on the roof.....

I hope you like it! Now wish me luck cos I expect I'll be really nervous right about now :-)

I'll be back when I'm Mrs Byron!!!!

Love 'n' hugs,
