Me.... CAS.... Well I'll try....

Hiya,

Just a quick post cos I've just realised I'm about to miss the deadline over at Less is More.... They're on a mission to get 1000 entries for their Anything CAS Goes and as the challenge at Fab 'n' Funky is "A Hard Theme" that is anything you find hard to do I really thought I'd better give it a go.... Besides there's been some amazing inspiration from Lisa and Sally's blogs so I just had to.

So I did.... In fact I had several goes.... And I hated them all! But I was determined to make one that I liked... or at least didn't hate! and so now I can show you this....

Apologies for the rubbish piccie but it's dark now so artificial lighting :-( I'll try to improve it tomorrow....

The stamp is a forever Friends one and I've coloured it with watercolour pencils - another thing I don't do! The sentiment is from Clare Curd's It's a Man's World and then a couple of gems cos I just couldn't bear to leave it :-)

Challenges:
Less is More - Anything CAS Goes
Fab 'n' Funky - A Hard Theme

Right! I'd better go and link it up! I'd love to hear what you think - please be honest!!!

Love 'n' hugs,

Lili of the Valley wedding card....

Hiya,

I'm on a mission to show you all the cards I've made recently but not managed to post about :-)

This was for my cousin who got married a couple of weeks ago. I love this sweet LOTV image :-)

I've coloured it with my promarkers and added plenty of glitter - of course you can't see any of it here! I'm rubbish with a camera! :-) It's all round the lacy edges of her dress... honest!

I added some flowers and fixed little gems to the centres.

The sentiment is from Sentiments 4 You and I cut it out with my nesties. Unfortunately I'd printed it a little bit too big for the nestie and it cut off a little bit of the "W" so I covered it up with my little punched butterflies :-) I added little gems to the "i's" in the sentiment....

Other things I used:
Papers - Background: Dovecraft, Matts: handmade paper
Ribbon - Candy win
Die cut heart - Candy win
Pearls from stash

Challenges:
Simon Says Stamp - Dies to die for
Paperplay - Punches and dies
Creative inspirations - Let's celebrate
CES challenges - Embellish me more (flowers, butterflies, ribbon, gems and pearls)

I also decorated the inside but I forgot to take a photo of it :-( Too late now cos I've given it away!

Before I go my fab Dream Valley teamie, Lin, is having a design team call over at Crafty Cardmakers..... Please pop by and have a look..... If I wasn't absolutely up to my eyeballs with life I'd definitely be trying my luck there!

Right, I'd better be off. Busy, busy busy! Back again soon :-)

Love 'n' hugs,

Trying a different shape....

Hiya!

A quick post this morning cos I'm off to take the littl'un swimming. I was getting a bit fed up of square cards and wanted to make something a little different so I used my nesties to cut out this shape:

The image is Lili of the Valley and the sentiment is from Sentiments 4 You.

I've also used:
Promarkers
Papers - Papermania Henbury Lane
Butterfly punch

Challenges:
Paperplay - punches and dies
Totally Gorjuss - nothing square about me
Simon Says Stamp - dies to die for

Right, I'm hoping to catch up with all your lovely blogs later today so I'll see you then :-)

Love 'n' hugs,

A new colour combo for me.....

Hiya,

I wanted to try something a little different so I've had a go with a colour combo I've never used before - red and yellow..... What do you think? I was kind of nervous putting this together but I think it's worked out ok.

I won the image in a candy win from Sarpreet (thankyou!) and coloured her with my promarkers. The sentiment is another from Sentiments 4 You.

The papers were freebies I got ages ago... not sure where from.

Other things I used:
Xcut border punch
Flower punch
Brads and ribbon from stash

Challenges:
Crafty ribbons - Anything goes
Creative inspirations - Anything goes
Fab 'n' Funky - Bingo (diagonal: stamped image, ribbon, flowers)

Anyway, hope you like it! I'm off to get some exercise! I need all the help I can get to fit into my wedding dress next year!!!! I've lost just over a stone now and feeling very pleased with myself :-)

Dream Valley Challenge 16 - Buttons!

Hiya,

Back again.... I just want to say a big "Hello!" to my new followers - thankyou so much! This time I've got my DT card for Dream Valley to share with you. Our challenge this fortnight is to use buttons on your creation. We are sponsored by the fab Digi's with Attitude and this is one of their images - Valentine Tween.

Here is a close up....

I actually used this as an anniversary card to give to Paul to celebrate us being together for 7 years last week.  This will probably be the last time we celebrate this anniversary because we get married next year so we can celebrate our wedding anniversary instead!

The lovely sentiment is another one from Sentiments 4 You.

I've used:
Sentiment - Sentiments 4 You
Promarkers
Papers - Henbury Lane
Crafts Too embossing folder
Lacey heart border punch
Nesties
Buttons and fluffy thread from stash

Challenges:
Creative Inspirations - Anything goes
Paperplay Challenges - Punches and Dies
Wags 'n' Whiskers - Lace (lacey heart border punch)

Don't forget to pop over to Dream Valley and see the gorgeous creations from the other girls - they're fab!!!

See you again soon!

Tilda's Getting Married!

Hiya,

Back again.... Honestly, no posts for ages and then two come along at once! I'm like the number 11 bus (fellow Brummies will know what I mean!)

My sister asked me to make a card for a friend of hers who is getting married so I just had to use this sweet image (possibly sent to me by Mandy??? Most of my Tilda's are from Mandy :-) Thankyou!)

I followed the fab sketch that Donna produced for Sunday Sketch & Stamp (again! I love this sketch and will definitely use it again!)

I used my leafy lace border punch to make a frame for the image and then added on of my fave sentiments from Sentiments 4 You. I made a little boo boo and the sentiment was slightly too large for my nestie so I accidentally chopped off a little bit of the "W" - a few strategically placed butterflies and nobody's any the wiser.... Unless I tell you all, of course :-)

A close up of the image....

I also used:
Promarkers
Glitter glue
Papers - Wild rose studio
Ribbon from Woolworths(!)
Pearls from stash

Challenges:
Crafty Ribbons - Anything goes
Totally Tilda - Wedding
Creative Inspirations - Anything goes
Wags 'n' whiskers - lace (leafy lace border punch)

Oh, and before I go I just want to tell you all how thrilled I was to get a Top 3 at Ladybug Crafts Ink with this card!!!! I love to win the random prizes of course - everybody does. But to be actually chosen I was so chuffed I could have burst! Thankyou so much :-)

Right, I'm off to cook dinner! Back again tomorrow with my DT card for Dream Valley....

Love 'n' hugs,

Another quick birthday make....

Hiya,

I've got a couple of posts for you today. This is my first - another birthday card for one of George's school friends. They all seem to come at the same time :-)

The image is an all time fave of mine - in fact it was the search for this image that led me to blogland. Anyway, that's a long story.... He's from squiggle stamps and is of course coloured with my promarkers...

The fab sentiment comes with it! A little close up....

Other things I used:
Papers - green: lime filigree from Doodlebug, yellow: crafts too
Hole punch for yellow spots! (I've run out of yellow brads!)
Brush markers and gel pen for faux stitching
Nesties

Challenges:
Creative Inspirations - Anything goes

Back in a mo with my next card :-)

Love 'n' hugs,

Some quick birthday makes....

Hiya!

A quick couple of cards before the school run! I might not have spent much time in blogland lately but I have been crafting!

These are for a couple of George's school friends:

This is for Harry. He's a Birmingham City fan so it was a real struggle for me to colour the shirt in blue (those who know me know that I'm a Villa fan so there really should have been some claret in there somewhere! Oh well, he's young. I'll forgive him!) I cut the goal from a picture - a bit of a cheat but it's the perfect size for this card.

I had my first go at creating clouds on this one - can you see them? I'm always such a wuss! Too scared to use bolder colours. Must be braver!!! The image is from a recent candy win from Sarpreet (thankyou!) I think it might be Wild Rose Studio???

And then a pirate card! Love this image :-) but again I was too much of a wuss with the colours.... The sentiment is a digi - I must look up who it's from (sorry!)

A close up of the image....

Right. I must be off. I'll have a look for some challenges later. Gotta get the kids ready. Gosh, is that really the time???? Gotta go!

"Sassy Studio Designs is a fresh new company. We have been designing and selling for a year now, and we have been kindly received into the community of digi stampers and crafters. I started designing images shortly after I started stamping, reason being...I didn't hardly like anything else out there I was a young adult woman at the time I was engaged, had no kids, I wanted fun sexy images that I would enjoy using and my friends and hubby would enjoy receiving. I designed images for 2 other digi stamp companies when my wonderful hubby kept trying to get me to go out on my own. So in June 2009 thanks to the few faithful followers I had, Sassy Studio Designs was born!  It has been a wonderful journey starting my own store. We have just grown so much these past months.I still try to keep "
Lindsay Dyer: keep with my original philosophy and reason for designing stamps, make them fun and keep them sassy...and yes sometimes even sexy!

Lindsay

The lucky winner will get 4 images!

Anyway, on to my card.....

It's my cousin's wedding next weekend and my Mom wanted me to make her a card with a bride and groom on the front that looks just like them:

I started with a bride and groom colouring page I found on the internet! I cut them out and added pictures of my cousin and her fiance and then set about making the clothes. The dress is made from some organza and has been fixed in place with a mixture of stitching and glue. It's difficult to see here but I've made a tiny organza flower and added it to the waist with some beads sewn into the centre just like her actual dress! (I wish I'd got a close-up of it but the camera just wouldn't focus - grrrr!) Her fiance's suit is made from George's old school trousers with a waistcoat and tie added using promarkers and some black pearl buttons.

I cut a shape in the front of the card with my nesties and fixed the happy couple to the inside of the card.  I cut the same shape from my dovecraft wedding papers and added the outline of the shape to the front of the card and the inside of the shape as a background inside the card. That way the papers still match up when the card is closed!

I added silver glitter round the edges of everything and even added some to the flowers in the corner. I also used some gem sprays my good friend Yvonne gave to me. This is pretty much the last of them now though :-(

I added a punched butterfly (that I forgot to take a close-up of!) and then I printed the wedding details onto some card made a tag. More glitter..... :-)

Because I'd fixed the bride and groom to the inside of the card, there was nowhere to write so I decorated the back of the card too using the same papers and the piece of card I'd cut from the front - waste not, want not!

The lovely sentiment is from Sentiments 4 You.....

Challenges:
Charisma Cardz - Anything goes
Moving Along with the Times - Handmade flowers (organza flower on bride's waist)
Paperplay - Make your own flowers (organza flower on bride's waist)
Sarah Hurley - Bling and sparkle

Right, I need to be heading down to my allotment to pick more beans - there's millions of them!!!! It took me three hours to prepare last weeks harvest :-)

Don't forget to have a look at the rest of the creations from Dream Valley's design team here.....
